Hair Extensions · Bay Harbor Islands, Miami
You can buy a pack of hair online for about $50. A salon install costs a lot more. Here is where that money goes at LAHH Salon in Bay Harbor Islands, so you can decide if it is worth it for you.
Five things: the hair itself, the color match, the stylist’s training, the time in the chair, and the care plan that keeps it looking right. Each one is covered below.
If you are comparing LAHH with another salon, or with hair you can buy online, those five things are the place to start.

Usually not. Low-cost hair sold online is often stripped and coated so it looks shiny in the package. Once that coating washes out, it can tangle, turn dull and stop matching.
We install LAHH & Co. hair, our own line, because we know how it holds up over time. That is also why we don’t install hair from anywhere else.
Two LAHH installs, before and after. The hair, the match, the cut and the styling all show in the result.
BeforeAfter
BeforeAfterMatching extensions to your hair takes time and skill, because a match that is close but not exact still shows.
Installing extensions is a separate skill from cutting and color. Our founder, Emily Safran-Wands, has trained in more than one extension system, which is what lets us recommend a method based on your hair.
A full install is careful, detailed work, plus the cut and the blend. Rushing it is how you end up with too much tension, attachments that show and hair that wears out sooner.
Before you leave, we give you a care plan: how to wash and brush your extensions, what to watch for in the Miami sun and pool, and when to book your move-ups or retapes, which are separate maintenance appointments.
Pulling extensions out at home is where a lot of damage to your own hair happens, so leave removal to us.
When you compare salons, compare the same things: the hair and where it comes from, how the color is matched, the method, how much hair the quote includes, how often you will need maintenance and what it costs, and whether the cut and style are part of the install.
A lower number that leaves one of those out is not the same quote. Ask every salon the same questions, then compare.
We put these together into your price at your consultation.
Any bag will carry your things. People who buy a Birkin are paying for how it is made and how long it lasts. Extensions work the same way.
If the lowest price matters most, we are probably not your salon, and that is okay.
A salon price covers the hair and the work around it: the color match, the install, the cut and blend, and the care plan you leave with. A pack of hair bought online covers only the hair.
Yes. The consultation has a nonrefundable fee, and it is applied to your install when you book it.
No. Move-ups, retapes and removal are booked as their own appointments. We give you your maintenance schedule at the install.
Because one number would be wrong for most people. Two clients can want the same length and need very different amounts of hair and color work, so we quote yours at your consultation.
Not always. Each method has its own install time, maintenance schedule and removal, so the method with the lowest install price is not always the lowest cost over a year. Ask what a full year of maintenance looks like before you compare.
It can. Hair that tangles or stops matching, or an install that slips or shows, often means removal and a new install sooner. That second install is the cost people do not plan for.
