Why we don't skip the consultation

Extensions only look right when the hair, the color, the method and the cut are planned together. That plan can't happen over the phone or from one photo. It happens with your hair in front of us.

It is also how we make sure extensions are right for you at all. If your hair needs some care before it can hold extensions, we will tell you.

What we look at

  • Your density and texture. How much hair you have decides how much extension hair it can carry and which method will sit flat.
  • Your length and your goal. Bring photos of the hair you want. We will tell you how close we can get in one install.
  • Your color. Root, mid-lengths and ends, and how your color is likely to change between visits.
  • Your routine. The gym, the beach, the pool, hot tools, ponytails and how much time you give your hair each morning.

How the color match works

Most hair is more than one color. Your roots, mid-lengths and ends usually sit a shade or two apart, and the Miami sun and pool move them further. A single extension shade can't match all of that.

So we hold LAHH & Co. hair against your own at the root, the middle and the ends, and we choose the shades that match each one. When the match needs color work, we do it here in the salon.

This is the main reason we only install our own hair: we have worked with it enough to plan how the match will wear.

Your plan and your price

Before you leave, you will know which method we recommend and why, how much hair you need, what the color work involves, how long the install will take, how often you will need maintenance, and the price of your install. Maintenance visits are booked separately.

The consultation has a nonrefundable fee, and it is applied to your install when you book it.

Questions about the consultation

Do I need a consultation before getting extensions?

Yes. Every extension install at LAHH starts with one, so we can match your color, choose the method and price it properly.

Is the extension consultation free?

No. The consultation has a nonrefundable fee, and it is applied to your install when you book it.

Can you match extensions to highlighted or balayage hair?

Yes. Dimensional color is where a careful match matters most, so we choose shades that match your roots, mid-lengths and ends.

Can I get extensions if I am changing my hair color?
