Color correction in Surfside, FL for hair that came home brassy, patchy, banded, or burned.
Color correction is its own service. It is not a touch-up. It is the careful, structured fix for hair that came out of another salon (or a box) wrong. We see it constantly: hot roots, orange ends, banded mids, green tones, gummy strands. The good news is most of it is fixable. The catch is that it takes time, the right products, and a colorist who has done this before.
LAHH Salon sits in Bay Harbor Islands at 1090 Kane Concourse, 5 minutes south on Collins Avenue from Surfside. We have full color correction capability, including bond builders, color removers, and custom toners.
Color correction is the process of taking hair that is currently the wrong color and getting it to the right one without destroying the integrity of the strand. That can mean removing dark box dye, neutralizing brassy yellows, fixing hot roots, breaking up banding, or transitioning between two very different colors over time.
It is not a single appointment. Most real color corrections in Surfside take two to four sessions over six to twelve weeks. We tell you that on day one because lying about the timeline is how clients end up with damaged hair.
Brassy blonde from box dye. Orange casts after a vacation tan service. Banding from at-home root touch-ups. Green tones from pool chlorine. Patchy lifts from a salon that used too much heat. We have a workflow for each of these, and we will walk you through the plan in writing during your consultation.
The first visit is usually a paid consultation and a strand test. We pull a strand, run our planned formula on it, and watch how the hair responds. If it lifts cleanly, we move into the full correction. If it does not, we adjust before we do anything destructive.
From there we work in stages. Bond-building treatments come before, during, and after every chemical step. We use Davines and Olaplex. We tone, we gloss, and we cut to remove damaged ends if necessary.
Surfside is a beach community. Hair that has lived through the small-town pace and beach access that makes Surfside feel like a coastal village inside Miami-Dade usually comes in with sun damage layered on top of whatever color disaster happened. Our process accounts for that. We do not assume the strand is healthy. We test, we treat, then we color.
We quote the full plan in writing after the consultation so you know what you are signing up for.
Stop the damage. No hot tools above 350 degrees. Switch to a sulfate-free shampoo and a weekly mask. Rinse with cool water. Wear a hat at the beach until we tell you it is okay to skip it. We will give you a printed care plan with exact products.

Why does color correction cost more than regular color?
It is a structured fix that takes more time, more product, and more chair turns than a standard service. The strand test alone takes 30 to 60 minutes. We quote the full plan in writing after the consultation so the price is set before any work starts.
Can you fix box dye?
Most of the time, yes. Box dye sits deeper in the strand and resists lightening. We may use a color remover before lifting. A correction off of years of box dye usually takes two to four sessions over six to twelve weeks.
Will my hair survive the process?
If we run it correctly, yes. Bond builders, conservative chemistry, and recovery time between sessions are how we keep the strand intact. We tell you on day one if your hair is too compromised for the planned correction.
