A precision cut at LAHH Salon takes 45 minutes to an hour depending on your hair type and the technique required. The cost changes based on hair length, density, and how complex the technique is, so check our service menu for current pricing. Our stylists cut for your hair texture, face shape, and how you actually style your hair at home, not just the photo you bring in. Book your cut and we will walk you through exactly what works for your hair in Miami's humidity.
Here is what happens during the appointment and why clients from Surfside, Bal Harbour, and Aventura keep coming back.
We cut dry after the consultation so you see the shape take form in real time. Most salons cut wet, which hides how the hair will actually fall when you leave. Cutting dry means we account for your natural texture, cowlicks, and growth patterns before the first snip. You walk out knowing exactly how to recreate the style.
Our stylists train on advanced cutting techniques including razor cutting, point cutting, and texturizing methods that remove weight without losing length. That matters in Miami because thick, coarse hair needs interior layering to move properly in humidity, and fine hair needs precision perimeter work to hold a shape. Generic one-length cuts do not survive here.
Every cut includes a finish style. We do not hand you a towel and send you to the dryer. You leave with your hair blown out, flat ironed, or air-dried with product depending on what you asked for. The cut and the style are one appointment.
You start with a 10-minute consultation. Bring reference photos if you have them, but also be ready to talk about how much time you spend on your hair in the morning, whether you blow-dry or air-dry, and what frustrates you about your current cut. Our stylists ask those questions because the answer changes the cutting approach. A client who flat irons daily gets a different layering pattern than a client who air-dries and goes.
The stylist examines your hair dry to see the natural fall, checks for previous damage or uneven ends, and explains what they plan to do before they start. If the plan does not match what you want, this is when you say so. Once we agree on the approach, you get shampooed and conditioned, then the stylist rough-dries your hair to about 80 percent dry.
The cut happens on damp-to-dry hair depending on the technique. Razor cuts and texture work happen fully dry. Blunt cuts and geometric shapes happen damp. The stylist works in sections, checking balance and symmetry as they go. Most precision cuts take 30 to 45 minutes of actual cutting time. Complex layering or corrective cuts take longer.
After the cut, the stylist finishes your hair with a blowout, flat iron pass, or curl set depending on what you asked for. They show you how to recreate the style at home and recommend products if your current routine is not working. You check out at the front desk, and we book your next cut for 6 to 8 weeks out if you want to stay on a regular schedule.
What you pay depends on hair length, density, and technique complexity. Corrective cuts (fixing a bad cut from another salon) and specialty techniques like curly cuts or razor shaping cost more because they require additional time and skill. See current pricing and add-on services on our service menu, or call us for a quote if your hair situation requires a consultation first. Book your appointment and we will confirm the exact cost when you check in.
Every 6 to 8 weeks if you want to maintain the shape. Miami humidity makes hair grow faster and coarser than it does in drier climates, and the cut loses its structure once the ends get more than an inch past where the stylist left them. Clients who stretch it to 10 or 12 weeks usually need a deeper cut to remove the overgrowth, which sets them back on length goals.
Yes. Growing out does not mean skipping cuts. It means cutting less length off the ends while maintaining shape and removing damage. Our stylists take a quarter inch to a half inch every 8 weeks, clean up the perimeter, and add internal layers if your hair is getting too heavy. You keep the length and lose the dead ends.
Precision cutting refers to the technique, not the price tier. It means the stylist uses advanced sectioning, elevation angles, and texturizing methods to create a specific shape that works with your hair type. A regular haircut is a vague term that could mean anything from clipper work to scissors. At LAHH, every cut we do is a precision cut because we do not do generic trims.
Photos help, but they are not required. Bring one if you have a specific shape or style in mind. If you do not, the stylist will ask what you like and do not like about your current cut and build a plan from there. Photos work best when the model in the picture has similar hair texture and density to yours. A cut that works on fine straight hair will not translate to thick coarse hair without major adjustments.
Yes. Most clients who book both schedule the color first, then the cut. The stylist applies and processes your balayage or highlights, rinses, tones, then cuts and styles. Doing the cut after color lets the stylist see the final color placement and adjust the shape to frame it. Total appointment time is 3 to 5 hours depending on the service combination.
Tell the stylist before you leave the salon. They will adjust it on the spot at no charge. If you get home and realize something is off, call us within 48 hours and we will schedule a complimentary adjustment. Precision cuts should work the way the stylist said they would, and if they do not, we fix it.
If you are tired of cuts that look good in the chair but fall apart by the time you get home, book your appointment at LAHH Salon in Bay Harbor Islands.
